DO IT SCARED

Family

I know you see me smiling and going about my day.

A lot of times I don’t know what to say.

How can I explain to you the crazy things that go through my mind?

So most of the time I’ll just say I’m fine.

What if I tell you I feel like I can’t breathe?

I know I’m breathing but my mind is telling me I can’t

so I’m literally gasping for air.

What if I tell you my heart is racing?

I feel like I’m having a heart attack and nothing is happening.

So when you ask how I’m doing. I smile and say I’m fine.

Would you believe me if I told you it feels like I can’t swallow?

Like it really feels like someone is taking their hands

and wrapping them around my neck.

Nahh I can’t tell you that!!

So when you ask how I’m doing. I smile and say I’m fine.

But I will say when you tell me to suck it up

or just think about something different how insulting that is.

Like if I could think about something different I would.

If I could shut this mind off I totally would.

So when you ask me how I’m doing. I smile and say I’m fine.

Because I don’t need you thinking I’m losing my mind.

But I am losing my mind....

well at least that’s what I feel

while trying to tell my thoughts they not real....

This is why the M;nd Ya Mental Experience is so necessary. Families and friends are unaware of the experience their person is having. This will be a safe place for individuals to be educated and to also find resources in the community. No more shut up and pray. We are praying then calling our therapist.
